Attorney General Ken Paxton facing felony fraud charges

A special prosecutor says he has evidence that could mean felony charges against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

The Dallas Morning News reported Houston lawyer Kent Schaffer, who was appointed to investigate charges of securities fraud, will soon present the evidence to a Collin County grand jury.

Paxton was fined $1,000 last year by the state securities board after admitting he solicited business for a financial advisor.

The special prosecutor says a Texas Rangers investigation found evidence of much more than Paxton admitted when he paid the fine.
