Police have made an arrest in the murder of an East Dallas mother in a drive by shooting last March.

Kedrick McDow, 20, was arrested in Garland Friday morning and charged with the murder of Marlese Arnett.

Dallas police say the 32-year-old mother of six was shot and killed by McDow on March 10 in a drive-by near John West Road and La Prada Drive in East Dallas. Arnett was on her way to her fiancé’s house and was alone in the car when the shooting happened.

Police believe the drive-by may have been the result of some sort of altercation between Arnett and McDow.

“A heartless evil person had to have done this,” said mom Velma Burton.

McDow was booked into the Dallas County Jail with a bond set at $500,000.
