Arlington woman struck, killed while walking along roadway

Arlington Police are investigating an accident that killed an elderly man in Southwest Arlington early Sunday morning.

The accident occurred on the frontage road of U.S. Highway 287 around 4:00 a.m. 

Police say a vehicle was traveling northbound on the frontage road and struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway. 

The driver of the vehicle called 911 and stopped to render aid. The pedestrian, identified as 83-year-old Billy Kimbrough, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
