4.0 quake shakes Johnson, Tarrant County on Thursday evening

An earthquake shook residents of Johnson and Tarrant County just before 6 p.m. on Thursday.

A 4.0 quake, one of the strongest in recent memory in North Texas, occurred at 5:58 p.m. The quake was centered north of Venus, Texas.

Numerous FOX4 viewers called into the newsroom and contacted the station on social media just after 6 p.m. saying they felt the quake throughout that part of the region.

Some viewers told FOX4 that pictures and other items had fallen off of the walls in their homes due to the quake.
