2-year-old girl found safe after suspect steals car with her inside

DALLAS - A 2-year-old girl has been returned safely to her mother after she was kidnapped while in the backseat of a vehicle in Dallas.

Police say the infant was left in the back seat of a running vehicle, when a suspect drove off in the stolen vehicle.

The 2-year-old was found a short time later in the 400 block of Watsonwood St. She was not injured and later returned to her mother.

The suspect dropped her off, but then drove away in the stolen vehicle.

Officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle in the 8800 block of C F Hawn, and the suspect was taken into custody, according to police. The suspect has not yet been identified.
