2 killed in Jet Ski crash on Lake Palo Pinto

Two young men died when their Jet Skis collided on a North Texas lake over the weekend.

The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning on Lake Palo Pinto, which is about 60 miles west of Fort Worth.

Investigators said the two men were staying at a lake house with friends. They left to go out on the lake and a few minutes later friends heard a loud crash.

By the time game wardens arrived both men had already died.

One victim was identified as Tanner Poeschel, a recent graduate of the University of Missouri. The other was a TCU student named Harrison Smith. Both were 22 years old.

“Nothing breaks my heart more than hearing the news today. It’s crazy how fast life can be taken away. Harrison Stokes Smith you have been one of my closest friends and one of the most selfless people I have known,” said Connor Vaccaro, Smith’s friend.

Smith was set to graduate in December with a degree in economics. He recently interned at the Fort Worth Chamber.

The Texas Game Wardens are investigating what happened. Both men were wearing life jackets.
