17-year-old football player drowns in Lake Lewisville

Texas Game Wardens recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy who drowned in Lake Lewisville Friday afternoon.

The 17-year-old has been identified as Theoldridge "Theo" Nash. 

Crews recovered the body of the using sonar around 9:30 p.m.

An officer drove up and saw the boy and three of his friends swimming to shore. He noticed one of them struggling and called for help.

Officials say the boy was a high schooler from Little Elm.

"He was a member of the football program here in Little Elm,” said Police Chief Rodney Harrison. “So the coaching staff came out to lend support to his family.”

Little Elm ISD is providing counseling for students and staff on Sunday at LEHS Library from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. as well as Monday throughout the day at the LEHS Library.
