1 in custody for Dallas robberies and shooting
DALLAS - Police are investigating several robberies and shooting that happened early Friday morning in East Dallas.
Officers heard gunshots around 2 a.m. on Capitol Avenue near Fitzhugh Avenue. They found a man with a wounded leg. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition but is expected to recover.
A police K-9 unit tracked down one of two suspected gunmen several blocks away. The suspect suffered dog bites and was taken to the hospital under guard for treatment. The second is still at large.
Police now believe the two suspects were involved in three unrelated robberies in the area around Northwest Highway overnight.
No one was injured in those robberies.
