Save Me Steve: Tax Free Weekend Rules

Nothing says the school year's almost here like Texas Tax Free Weekend, which is this weekend.

Between Friday and Sunday you don't have to pay the state sales tax on eligible items like clothes, shoes, backpacks and school supplies. That means you can save $8 for every $100 you spend in the stores or online.

Victoria Snee from the Shops at Legacy joins consumer reporter Steve Noviello to talk about the restrictions and help you maximize your savings.

For example, items that cost more than $100 are not eligible. Sports equipment, jewelry, clothing accessories and handbags also are not eligible. But, moms and dads will appreciate that diapers are.
