The SPCA is hosting the charity's annual Paws Cause fundraiser on January 27th. Here's a preview of the event and how your donatoins will be spent right here in North Texas.
Buttery Mustard, Sausage and Cheese Biscuits from Salum Restaurant
With Whipped Maple Butter
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup of grated extra sharp cheddar cheese
¼ cup of chopped chives
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp black pepper
¾ tsp kosher salt
¾ tsp garlic powder
¾ tsp baking soda
1 ¾ cup of buttermilk
3 tbsp whole grain mustard
¾ cups of butter
1 cup spicy andouille sausage chopped fine
Preheat oven to 400 F.
Stir together flour, cheese, chives, baking powder, pepper, salt, garlic powder
and baking soda in a large bowl.
Mix in butter and mix well. Add buttermilk and stir until just incorporated.
Drop batter in spoonful onto paper lined baking sheets. Bake for 14 to 18
minutes until golden brown. Serve with maple whipped butter.
Whipped Maple Butter
1 lb of butter softened
1 ½ cups of maple syrup
Whip in a mixer until well incorporated
