DALLAS - What's wrong with more room and money in your pocket? Consumer reporter Steve Noviello teamed up with a woman who is seeing green after a closet clean-out.

Using the 5 Miles app, lifestyle blogger Tonya Foster was able to sell things like a pair of boots, old purses, a fishing pole and even decorative doorknobs.

"I did great. I sold a lot of stuff. I made $165 in cash," she said.

Mark Brinkerhoff with 5 Miles said it's a smartphone app designed for community commerce.

"Think of it as Instagram meets Craigslist," he said. "You're actually buying and selling with neighbors."

The app is free and has no transaction fees.
