Bush Center offers free bluebonnet tours
DALLAS - You don’t have to drive for hours or park by the side of the highway for some of the best bluebonnet photos in Texas.
The George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University has a free 15-acre park within the grounds filled with wildflowers, prairie grasses and trees.
“We have bluebonnets. We have primrose, Texas yellow star and then later on we’ll have more flowers. We have 53 varieties of wildflowers that bloom all the way through fall,” said Lois Diggs, a master gardener for the center.
The Bush Center also offers free guided tours through the winding trails of the park every Saturday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. through June 2. Self-guided tours are available every day from sunrise to sunset.
The bluebonnets will be blooming in the park for the next few weeks, Diggs said.
