Summer is about to get Weird!

Hottest day of the year on the way...followed by the oddest summer forecast in a while!

SW winds, and "slightly" less humid air will push us over 100 most areas. The only factor that might slow us down is some high level cloud cover. If it stays with us, we are 102. If it erodes, we could be higher. Either way, one last Heat Advisory is in effect.

A cold front will slip onto the Red river later today, so we'll keep a low 20% coverage of gusty storms. That grows to 30% overnight areas North/East of DFW, with 20% for the Metroplex, as the front slips down.

Saturday will still be HOT...just LESS hot. Mid to upper 90s (lower NE). With the front nearby and a weak disturbance, we've toned it down to 20% showers/storms,...but they are still possible.

Drier air filters in by Sunday. Partly sunny skies, mid 90s. Not bad for late July. The only shower chance is far west...closer to Abilene.

Next week is very interesting. We'll end July quiet Monday...low to mid 90s. By Tue-Wed a decently strong disturbance in what we call "NW" flow will bring higher shower/storm chances, with the most likely day being Wednesday. Additional cloud cover MAY keep temps below 90 that day! Even the end of next week will stay below normal!
