Harvey's rain just for SOME in North Texas
A guaranteed "cool" end to August, and for SOME, a WET end...thanks to Harvey!
Northeast winds blowing around TS Harvey (still in the Gulf) will keep temps in the upper 80s today. Harvey is far enough away that there will be more sun, BUT we can't rule out another tropical rain band PM (20%). Areas SE may see higher rain chances again.
Harvey will make its closest approach to NTX Wed-Thu (but stay in Louisiana). Winds will be gusty from the north, and some extra clouds can be expected. Highs generally mid 80s. As for RAIN chances, they are highest EAST of Dallas. Generally, 30% Metro...and quite low west of FTW.
By Friday, we should have partly sunny skies and temps returning to near 90.
The Holiday weekend looks warmer (actually close to normal in low 90s) . There will be a disturbance dropping in Sat PM and lingering Sunday with 20% t-storm coverage, but otherwise a fairly quiet period.
