Third round of the Byron Nelson underway after delayed start because of rain

The start of third round at the AT&T Byron Nelson was delayed because of rain.

The round was supposed to kick-off Saturday morning, but was delayed several times until the afternoon hours.

The first tee time of the day was at 3:04 p.m.

Sung Kang started the day in the lead after shooting 16 under during the first two rounds.

It was muddy at the Trinity Forest Golf Club, but there didn't seem to be much standing water on any of the fairways.

The gallery grew as the sun came out later in the day.

“You know, it’s not great, but the course doesn’t look as bad as I was thinking," golf fan Wyatt Deans said. "It’s rained a lot but apparently it drains well. These guys are professionals so they’re going to be able to play at any level in any conditions.”

The weather for the final day of the Nelson is expected to be much better, with the forecast for Sunday being sunny with temperatures in the 70s.
