Friday night high school football games in North Texas moved due to weather forecast

Several high schools in North Texas are already planning to move their Friday night football games because of thunderstorms in the forecast.

Some of the notable games moved up to Thursday night are:

Allen vs. Plano
Arlington vs. Mesquite Horn
Brewer vs. Crowley
Corsicana vs. Kaufman
Dallas Carter vs. Crandall
Denison vs. Frisco Reedy
Ennis vs. North Forney
Fort Worth Dunbar vs. Celina
Forney vs. Terrell
Heath vs. McKinney North
John Paul II vs. Frisco Legacy
Krum vs. Carrollton Ranchview
Lake Dallas vs. Princeton
Arlington Lamar vs. Richland
Mansfield vs. Mansfield Summit
Mansfield Lake Ridge at South Grand Prairie
McKinney at Prosper
Rockwall vs. Arlington Martin
South Grand Prairie vs Cedar Hill
Sulphur Springs vs Royse City
Waxahachie vs DeSoto

Rockwall ISD officials said they worked with McKinney ISD because of the high probability of thunderstorms on Friday. They decided Thursday would be a better night for the players to “showcase their talents and perform in a safe environment.

“For the safety of fans, band and players, both teams have agreed to play the varsity game on Thursday evening,” Allen ISD officials echoed.

Allen’s game on Sept. 7 was delayed for more than two hours because of bad weather. A week later the game was canceled at halftime because of lightning and storms.

The school districts plan to either reschedule junior varsity games or move them up one night as well.
