ESPN suspended SportsCenter host Jemele Hill on Monday after she tweeted that fans upset with Jerry Jones' comments about all players respecting the flag could boycott the advertisers of the Dallas Cowboys.

In a written statement, ESPN said:

"This play always work. Change happens when advertisers are impacted. If you feel strongly about JJ's statement, boycott his advertiser," Hill tweeted on Sunday with a link to a tweet featuring several of the Cowboys' advertisers.

The tweet was in response to Jones saying his players would respect the flag, and if they didn't, they wouldn't play.

Hill had previously called President Donald Trump a “white supremacist.” The president later demanded an apology for the tweet.
