The Philadelphia Eagles are heading back to the Super Bowl, thanks in large part to their dynamic running game.

By the numbers:

The Eagles ran for seven touchdowns in Sunday's NFC Championship game win over the Washington Commanders.

That's one more touchdown than the Dallas Cowboys scored all season on the ground.

Ezekiel Elliott scored three touchdowns for the Cowboys, Rico Dowdle scored two and Dak Prescott ran in one touchdown.

The Cowboys' six total rushing touchdowns were the fewest in the league.

The Cowboys did not score multiple rushing touchdowns in a single game this season.

The Eagles scored 29 touchdowns on the ground during the regular season. Only the Buffalo Bills (32) had more.

The backstory:

The Dallas Cowboys rushing attack was mostly ignored during the offseason.

The Cowboys did not pick a rusher in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Dallas did re-sign Ezekiel Elliott, who was cut before the final game of the season.

On Sunday, Eagles free agent acquisition Saquon Barkley scored three rushing touchdowns.

Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry and Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs were also free agents this offseason.

All three backs made the Pro Bowl.
