Darvish excited to be pitching in Game 2
The Rangers will turn to pitcher Yu Darvish for Game 2 of the American League Division Series.
Game 1 was a disaster for the Rangers. Starting pitcher Cole Hamels gave up seven runs in just over three innings. Texas has held to four hits and did not even score until the ninth inning.
Now it’s up to Darvish to make things right.
“I think it’s a great thing for me. Last year, I couldn’t pitch. I wanted to pitch but I couldn’t. And then this year, now that I’m physically healthy, I’m ready. I can pitch in the game, so I’m happy about that,” he said.
This will be his first post-season start since the 2012 American League Wild Card game.
The parking lots open at 7 a.m. for tailgaters. Fans can start filing into Globe Life Park at 9 a.m. and are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for security screenings.
The first pitch is scheduled for noon, assuming the weather cooperates.
