Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Hall of Famer Charles Haley and other sports stars got out their golf clubs for a good cause Monday.

They participated in a charity tournament at Top Golf in The Colony. Mean Joe Greene, Earl Campbell and basketball Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman all took swings.

Haley’s “Tackle Tomorrow Today” foundation promotes literacy in inner-city schools.

Dak is also trying to raise awareness for cancer research through his “Faith, Fight, Finish” foundation. He lost his mother to colon cancer in 2013.

“My mom’s my inspiration, my motivation in everything I do. So fight, faith, finish. Those are three words my mom left for me and my two brothers. So it just touches home. It touches home every time I get to do anything. Now that I’ve got my foundation up and running and we’re doing all these great things and getting involved and being a part of these type of events, it’s humbling. I know my mom is watching and would be proud,” he said.

He did not play Sunday night and he won’t play in the pre-season finale in Houston Thursday. He’ll play for the opener at Carolina on Sept. 9.
