Wounded soldier rewarded with new home
ROCKWALL, Texas - A disabled soldier is finally getting a reward for his sacrifice.
Sgt. First Class Jerry Holcomb and his family broke ground on their future home in Rockwall.
It will be mortgage-free thanks to the charity Operation Finally Home.
Holcomb suffered two head injuries in combat.
“It’s gonna give me closure in the chapter that I’m able to stay in one location and be able to see my kids fully thrive to the best of their potential,” he said.
Construction now begins with the family anxious to move in.
