Woman struck by stray bullet while driving in Fort Worth

Fort Worth Police are investigating a shooting that left an innocent woman injured Sunday night.

Officers responded to the intersection of Wilbarger St. and Miller Ave around 8 p.m.

Police say they found a female who was shot as she was driving by a group of unknown persons who were having an altercation in the street.

Early indications are that she was not involved in that altercation and just happened to be hit by stray gunfire as she drove past the group. The shooter and the other people involved in the altercation fled before officers arrived.

At this time there isn't any information available on the suspect(s).

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.
