The driver and two passengers ran from a truck that crashed into a southeast Dallas home.

Dallas police said the driver lost control of the vehicle just after midnight Wednesday in the 400 block of St. Augustine Drive. He smashed into an elderly woman’s home.

Firefighters had to rescue the woman. She was shaken but not hurt.

The crash also caused a natural gas leak and downed power lines. Workers had to shut off the gas and power to both the damaged home and two nearby. They were evacuated as a precaution.

“I was shocked to see because it was really close to our house too. Some of the other neighbors said that the guys that were in the truck, they ran away,” a neighbor said.

Police confirmed the three people who were inside the truck are still at large. The driver will likely face hit-and-run charges when found.
