Virgin America adds Dallas to Austin flights
Virgin America will now fly from Dallas Love Field to Austin.
The surprise announcement of the new route was made Wednesday morning, with the low fare carrier offering a limited number of $39 tickets to celebrate.
Virgin already flies to four cities from Love - San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York (LaGuardia) and Washington D.C. (Reagan National). Virgin moved its service from DFW Airport in October 2014.
The Dallas to Austin flights begin April 28, with five daily departures offered.
Virgin will now have a total of 19 daily departures from Love Field.
The discounted fares are available through 11:59 p.m. CT on Feb. 19.
