Video shows suspect in Downtown Dallas carjacking
DALLAS - There are new developments in the case of a woman who was ambushed in a Downtown Dallas parking garage. Police released surveillance video of a man using her credit card.
Dallas police said the suspect used Sarah Hoff's stolen credit card at a south Dallas McDonald just hours after she was carjacked.
The video shows him in her stolen BMW. He walks back to a Hummer that was waiting in line behind him in the drive-thru. He casually leans into the window and talks to the driver as if they two know each other.
The suspect was wearing a distinctive camouflage hat and a pink or orange sweatshirt.
Hoff was on her way back from the grocery store about a week ago when the carjacking happened. She was sitting in her car on the eighth floor of the Davis Building parking garage, on Main Street.
She said two suspects walked up on either side of her car. One opened up the driver’s side door and the other opened the passenger door. Then they demanded her phone.
The men beat the 37-year-old pretty badly and took her car, phone, purse and jewelry.
Police hope releasing the video will lead to tips. They would also like to talk to the driver of the Hummer.
