A teen’s joy ride turned into a police chase overnight in Tarrant County. Now one 15-year-old boy could be facing criminal charges.

Police in the Fort Worth suburb of Haltom City said they tried to stop a Mercedes that was driving erratically just before 2 a.m. Thursday.

The car kept going until it crashed into a bridge pillar on State Highway 121 at Minnis Drive in east Fort Worth.

The officers found a 15-year-old behind the wheel. He had apparently taken his parent’s car for a joy ride.

The teen was taken to the hospital to be checked out and then released to his mother.

He could face charges for evading arrest.
