Suspension upheld for Fort Worth officer who made viral arrest
FORT WORTH, Texas - The Fort Worth police officer who appealed his punishment after a controversial arrest last year lost.
Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald suspended Officer William Martin for 10 days. Martin appealed after a June hearing. The suspension was upheld.
Martin was disciplined over his arrest of Jacquelyn Craig and her two daughters when he went to investigate Craig’s claim that a neighbor had assaulted her young son.
Cellphone video of the arrest went viral.
Martin has already served the suspension without pay.
The charges against Craig were dropped.
