Suspected car thief hit, killed by another car

A 14-year old boy suspected of stealing a car was hit and killed by another car in Arlington. Police said he was hit on a highway after ditching the stolen car and trying to run away.

Police said about an hour and a half after the car was stolen, the car owner’s son saw the vehicle and confronted the boy around 9 p.m. Tuesday outside The Castillian apartment complex, located at Avenue J and Highway 360 in Grand Prairie. Police said he boy drove off and crashed into another vehicle at the intersection. He fled the scene, running toward Highway 360 in Arlington. He then jumped down an embankment and was hit by a car when he ran through traffic.

He died at the scene and his name has not been released.

Arlington Police said it’s unlikely no charges will be filed against a driver who hit the boy.

Grand Prairie Police are looking for another teen suspect that is involved in the theft of the car last night at The Castillian, located.  They are working to get video of the second teen involved in the theft of the vehicle.
