Suspect arrested after chase, standoff in NW Fort Worth

Police arrested a man after a chase led to a standoff in northwest Fort Worth.

North Richland Hills Police said the incident started when officers were called to an alleged domestic assault Saturday morning in the 7400 block of NE Loop 820. Police said they spotted the suspect leaving and ordered him to stop. Instead, police said he took off.

A pursuit continued to the 2200 block of Jacksboro Highway. North Richland Hills police said officers saw the suspect armed with a handgun. The Fort Worth police SWAT team was called in. The suspect was taken into custody at 2 p.m. without incident. Police said he was alone in the car.

Police said the suspect, 26-year-old Nicholas Hoefer, was taken to the Tarrant County Jail with charges pending and a hold for an outstanding warrant from Tarrant County.
