Storms limited a motorcycle competition that also serves as training for police officers.

Grand Prairie hosts the annual Spring Classic Motorcycle Rodeo. This is the 9th year for the event.

Saturday’s opening ceremony and several obstacle course runs were cancelled because of heavy rain.

But other activities did take place, including the four-man team race and partner ride.

"This is part of being a motorcycle rider. You have to deal with inclement weather, cold, rain or hot. So we're out there riding, performing our normal duties, or as a civilian you're riding to work, back and forth, or just as a weekend rider," said Grand Prairie PD Sgt. Cesar Guerra.

More than 100 competitors from over a dozen local law enforcement agencies took part.

Money raised at the charitable event supports the special Olympics.
