Slain musician Selena will posthumously receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in November.

Officials announced the ceremony for the so-called Queen of Tejano music is set for Nov. 3.

Selena’s sister Suzette, actress Eva Longoria and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti are among the people scheduled to attend the event.

“There is something magic about Selena,” said Mireya Loza to entertainment publication Variety. Loza is a curator at the National Museum of American History, who currently has a Selena exhibit on display. “Her story connected with so many people and it legitimized the Latino experience for many as well.”

Selena was born in Corpus Christi and was a Grammy Award winner. At the height of her popularity she was gunned down by her fan club president in March 1995.
