It was a busy morning for firefighters battling two large house fires in Dallas.

They were first called to an empty home on Springlake Drive in Pleasant Grove just before 4 a.m.

Intense flames forced firefighters to act defensively. They were not able to save the house, but they did prevent the fire from spreading to other homes.

Then, a single-story home on Springhill Drive near White Rock Lake caught fire around 4:30 a.m.

The fire caused major damage, but neighbors said the woman who lived there was able to get out safely with her two dogs.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of both fires.

No one was hurt in either incident.
