Residents forced to jump from balconies during fire in Dallas

People rushed to escape a four-alarm apartment fire in the Red Bird area of Dallas Sunday morning.
The fire at the three-story building started just after 2:00 Sunday morning at the Mandalay Palms Apartments on Chesterfield drive.
Most of the flames were in the breezeway, which cut off escape routes for most residents, said Jason Evans at Dallas Fire Rescue.
Some people had to jump from their balconies to escape, Evans said.
No one was injured in the fire, but two men were hurt during the escape effort. They are expected to survive.
70 firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, which impacted 24 apartment units.
The Red Cross is helping the families displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
