Police surround Dallas motel following murder

DALLAS - Dallas police surrounded the same Motel 6 where a man was murdered early Wednesday morning.

The fatal shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Witnesses said they heard an argument and then gunfire.

Police found a man in the breezeway on the second floor of the motel, which is near Stemmons Freeway and Regal Row.

SWAT officers returned to the motel once the sun came up. They were reportedly going from room to room looking for the suspect.

Part of Regal Row between Interstate 35 and Harry Hines Boulevard was closed while police searched. It has since reopened.

There were no reports of an arrest.

The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
