EVERMAN, Texas - Local law enforcement officers and the FBI are searching behind a home in Everman for the remains of 6-year-old Noel Rodriguez Alvarez.

What we know:
Images from SKY 4 on Tuesday afternoon showed FBI agents digging and sifting through the dirt outside Noel's former home in the 3700 block of Wisteria Drive in Everman.
Everman Police Chief Al Brooks said the search is a joint effort between his department, the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI. He confirmed it's linked to the little boy’s disappearance, but said it's just another part of the investigative process.
Chief Brooks said there were no new leads or information that brought them back to this location.
"Not a lot of new information to share at this point. It's an ongoing continuation to seek justice for Noel. That's what this has been about since day one, and it continues today," he said.
This is the same property where Noel lived with his mother, stepfather, and six of his nine siblings. It's previously been searched. However, this operation seems to be very thorough and methodical.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office also confirmed it was asked to be on standby at the location at the request of the investigating law enforcement agencies.

The backstory:
Noel’s mother, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, is charged with capital murder for his disappearance.
The 6-year-old was last seen alive in the fall of 2022. However, police in his hometown of Everman weren’t made aware of his disappearance until March of 2023.

That’s when an extended relative reported him missing and police and Child Protective Services were called to the then 6-year-old’s home.
Police said Noel's mother lied to investigators and told them he was living with his biological father in Mexico.
Two days later, Rodriguez Singh, her husband, and Noel's six siblings left the country on a flight to India. Noel was not on that flight.
Singh was added to the FBI’s Most Wanted list and was captured in India in August.

A Tarrant County judge ruled that Cindy Rodriguez Singh is incompetent to stand trial for the capital murder of her 6-year-old son, Noel Rodriguez Alvarez. She'll be moved to a state mental facility.
Last month, a Tarrant County judge determined that she was incompetent to stand trial and she was sent to a state mental facility.
Her hearing for the parental rights of her other children is not expected to happen until she can attend.
Her surviving children are now with family in the United States.
Noel is presumed dead, but his remains were never found.
