Police chase involving robbery suspect ends in Far East Dallas

Police say a man who shoplifted from a Target store and assaulted an employee lead them on an hour-long chase into northeast Dallas Thursday evening.

The driver of the pickup truck was identified as Joe Sanchez, 45. The passenger who bailed out earlier in the chase was Marlon Duran, 36.

Mesquite Police this chase started after they responded to a robbery call at a Target store located off of Town East Boulevard. When confronted by loss prevention officers, Mesquite police say the duo took off in the pickup truck.

He led sheriff’s officials on a chase for nearly an hour on Thursday that wound through the Love Field area, then moved through northwest Dallas to Central Expressway. The driver went north on 75 to eastbound 635 and then exited, weaving through sidestreets until coming to a stop along La Prada Drive in Dallas.

The loss prevention officer who was allegedly assaulted by Sanchez sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
