Police arrest man who fired shots, started standoff overnight

Police rescued several children and women during a stand-off that lasted nearly two hours.                                       It began Saturday around 1:30 a.m. in far east Dallas. Police say officers heard gunfire when they responded to the home on Larry Drive near Ferguson Road. The officers and SWAT members secured the scene. At that time they managed to get three children and two women out of the house. In the moments that followed police quickly rushed in and arrested the man. The suspect's identity was not immediately released. He's expected to be charged with aggravated assault.
