PD: Suspected drunken driver leaves scene after crash in Dallas

DALLAS - Dallas police said a city employee was injured after he was struck by a suspected drunken driver Saturday night.
It happened around 11:45 p.m. at 800 S. Good Latimer Expressway.
Police said the 50-year-old city of Dallas employee was working on the left lane when he was struck.
The man was also standing behind his vehicle wearing a reflective vest.
The driver, 30-year-old Daisy Smith, left the scene but pulled over about a mile away.
Police said she called relatives and a friend before calling 911 and turning herself in.
Smith was under the influence and was placed under arrest for intoxication assault and failure to stop and render aid, police said,
Police said the city employee is in critical condition.
