One dead, one injured after shooting at Fort Worth home

A suspect is still on the run after a deadly shooting in a neighborhood near the TCU campus on Friday.

Police say two people were found shot inside a home in the 3500 block of Rogers Avenue. One died and the other was taken to a hospital.

Police say the person who opened fire and the two victims all knew each other.

“There's no sign of forced entry, so we believe this individual was allowed inside this location. I don't know if an argument ensued or if there was some sort of confrontation that led to the individual pulling out a gun and shooting them,” said FWPD Ofc. Brad Perez.

Two schools near the crime scene were briefly placed on what's called lockout status. Students at McLean Sixth Grade Center and McLean Middle School were kept inside, while police searched the area for the shooter. That lockout was later lifted.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 35 years old, 5'7-6'1", salt and pepper facial hair, last observed wearing a black jacket, gray knit hat and blue jeans.
