North Texas volunteers help pack 500,000 meals for those in need

Volunteers from across North Texas helped pack more than 500,000 meals that would be donated to those in need.

The group of 1,500 met at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison to work with the organization Feed My Starving Children.

Kids as young as 5 years old could volunteer to help.

TCA head baseball coach Don English had his whole team there.

"We always talk to the kids about it's not about 'me,' it's about 'we,' it's about team, it's about others. It's about learning how to look outside yourself and learn how to serve other people," English said. "This is another great way for us to do that off the field."

The food will be given to medical and feeding programs in 70 countries.

This is the sixth year for the event.
