North Texas man donates kidney to older brother

DALLAS - A North Texas man gave his brother quite the Christmas gift.

23-year old Caleb Massengale donated a kidney to his older brother, 31-year old Ryan Massengale.

Ryan was born with a congenital kidney disorder and had one kidney removed when he was 2 years old. Dealing with complications, he needed a kidney donor.

It turned out Ryan’s brother was a perfect match.

The procedure was the 100th kidney transplanted by surgeons at Methodist Dallas Medical Center this year.
