North Texas man arrested after allegedly stabbing ex-girlfriend to death

A North Texas man was arrested Thursday trying to flee the area after he allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death.

Grand Prairie police were called shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday by a person who saw a woman collapsed in a front yard and bleeding heavily. Police arrived to the home in the 5200 block of Silver Trail and quickly determined she had been stabbed multiple times.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police didn’t immediately release the name of the victim.

A police investigation of the crime scene determined the woman’s estranged boyfriend, John Pauley Stover, 20, was the suspect.

Stover was arrested on Thursday in Dallas by US Marshalls. Authorities said he was about to flee North Texas.

Stover was jailed in Grand Prairie as of Thursday evening on a $250,000 bond and faces one murder charge.
