North Texas hospitals welcome first babies of 2018

FORT WORTH, Texas - These little bundles of joy were the first babies born in North Texas in 2018.

The first baby of 2018 in Tarrant County was Fernanda Sofia Martinez. She was born at 12:38 a.m. on New Year’s Day at Medical City Arlington.

Lydia Marissa Farris arrived at 9:43 a.m. at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.

The first baby born in 2018 at JPS Health Network was Oscar Uriel Cadena. He was born at 9:55 a.m.

Their proud parents just missed getting a tax deduction but got some special attention from the hospitals.
