Neighbors save elderly woman from apartment fire

An elderly woman was saved by her neighbor Sunday morning after a fire broke out in her kitchen.

The fire started around 6:30 a.m. at the Meadow Crest Apartments, in the 5200 block of Meadowcreek Drive.

Neighbors said they smelled smoke and heard screaming, and a resident that lived above the woman pulled her out of her apartment.

Fire officials said no injuries were reported.
