Motorcyclist killed in charity ride remembered Saturday morning

Friends remembered a motorcyclist who died in a charity ride a year ago as they continued the tradition of holding the charity toy ride.
49 year old Russ Neis was a husband and father of two teenage children and was a biker with the Christian Motorcycle Association.
He had been in charge of putting together the toy ride with Guardians of Grace. They were on their way to Whitewright’s “Project Christmas” to deliver the toys.
According to DPS officials, a car rear ended another causing it to spin out and hit Neis’s Harley Davidson head on. He died at the scene.
The toy ride happened again, on Saturday, in memory of Neis.
Motorcyclists rode by the crash site on their way to Project Christmas.
