Missy Bevers laid to rest Saturday

ELLIS COUNTY, Texas --  A murdered Midlothian woman was remembered as a devoted mother who motivated others at her funeral Saturday morning.

Missy Bevers, 45,  was found dead inside Creekside Church of Christ last Monday. Police said she was ambushed and died from a blow to the head.

Hundreds of people attended her funeral at The Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Waxahachie Saturday. Family and friends described Bevers as a person who dedicated her life to those she loved. Bevers was a wife and a mother to three young girls. She also worked as a group fitness instructor for Camp Gladiator.

"Before fitness, she was a mom. She was a mom and she loved everybody and she loved her husband. I babysit when they had date night. This is just very difficult," said her friend Angela Rickabaugh.

Many from her Camp Gladiator family arrived at the funeral wearing work out clothes and red t-shirts in unity. They said she became passionate about fitness several years ago when she got in the best shape of her life, then wanted to help others do the same.

Police are still looking for the person who killed Bevers. Midlothian police released more surveillance video Friday of the person walking around Creekside Church of Christ wearing police tactical gear. That person is believed to be the one who killed Bevers.
