Man tries to lure N. Richland Hills child into SUV

North Richland Hills police are investigating after they say a man tried to lure a child into his SUV.

It happened Wednesday afternoon near Emerald Hills Way and Galway Lane.

A 10-year-old girl was waiting at her school bus stop around 7:30 a.m. when she says a driver pulled up to her, called out, “Come here,” and motioned her toward his SUV.

The girl became scared and started walking toward her home, and the SUV began following her.

The girl tried to flag down another driver but ended up calling for help with her cell phone. The driver of the SUV left at that time.

The driver in question’s four-door SUV is described as being gold with a white pinstripe down the side. The back windows looked as though they were missing and had been replaced with something similar to metal.

The driver is described as a white, bald man in his 30s or 40s. He’s described as a smoker who was clean shaven and wearing a red T-shirt.

Anyone with information on the driver of the SUV is asked to contact police at 817-427-7000.
