Man killed while putting sailboat into Lake Ray Hubbard

A man was killed at Lake Ray Hubbard on Monday when he was hit in the head by the boom of his sailboat.

A Texas Game Warden said the man was putting his sailboat into the lake when he was hit by the pole on his boat. He reportedly died instantly.

The Game Warden was nearby and was able to recover the body quickly.

The man’s death was the second at Lake Ray Hubbard this holiday weekend. A man drowned on Sunday while he attempted to help another person struggling to swim in the water. The 43-year-old jumped into the water with a vest in hand, but was not wearing one. Officials recovered his body on Monday afternoon.
