Man jumps from 3rd floor apartment window to escape gunman

DALLAS - One man is dead, another is injured and a gunman is on the run after an early morning shooting near Bachman Lake.

Dallas police responded to a 911 call at an apartment complex on Clydedale Drive around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. They found a shooting victim outside.

The man told officers he jumped out a third-story window to escape a gunman. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

When the officers went into the apartment, they did not find the gunman but they did find a second shooting victim dead. His name has not yet been released.

Police said they believe the shooting was related to an altercation between several people inside the apartment. They are still investigating and hoping to interview the survivor in the hospital.

They did not release any information about the suspect or a description.
