Man dragged to his death in Dallas carjacking

Dallas police need help finding a suspect who dragged the owner of a car after trying to steal it.

It happened Monday around 8:45 p.m. in Northwest Dallas near Walton Walker Road and Northwest Highway. Police said the victim saw his 1992 Pontiac being driven away and jumped on it to try to stop it.

He ended up being dragged for about a mile and was seriously injured. He died at the hospital. His name has not yet been released because police are still trying to notify his family members.

Officers later found the stolen car wrecked out. The thief got away.

Police later released surveillance video showing the suspect running at the University of Dallas DART Rail Station.
